MOIL IPO

Share market is the most dynamic money making field and as we all know it, it can change the destiny of people involved.

For most companies it is the best time to come out with an IPO and why not..... everything is on the move => I dont think any person in his life would have ever seen such a period, Silver & Gold rates soaring up everyday, real estate business is on all time high and so is share market as mentioned.

But at the same time when companies are going public it should at least keep in mind little basic thing. I am driving a point for a company called MOIL who has opened its IPO and surprisingly the period of opening and closing is little weird. Opened i guess was on 29th of Nov'10 and closing on 1st of Dec'10.

Now this is the period where most of the people are strapped for funds, as it is the end of month and salary unlike international companies doesn't come on 1st of every month. It is tentatively during second week of the month. Few lucky ones receive it on 1st of the month. So how would a common man/retail investor able to apply and book some profit if this is how companies are going to open their IPO. I wish some basic thought is applied by such biggies before coming out with their respective IPO. (Whether it is already oversubscribed or not, that is not the question here)

Bollywood consultant

Bollywood Trend:

Given the fact that i am a bollywood freak, i just saw the movie "Milenge Milenge" and want to share a few thoughts on Filmy Jodis which are there ON screen and OFF the screen. Just see the trend which is mentioned below....... still i don't know why film makers make this mistake or perhaps they are still ignorant about this and do not study the trends.

Off screen bollywood couples (seeing each other or are married in real life) should ideally be casted together, only if the script has both of them in the same boat and not against each other. On screen they should come out as couple in love and not show it in a format where one is a villan and one is a hero. Instead both should be shown of being in love after all the masala and game play.

Look at movie examples which have bombed or did not fare well in box office when the real life Bollywood Jodi were not in the same boat (i mean when they were shown against each other in the movie or if they have broken up in real life and still casted together, high possibility is that it will not work at the box office.).

Example 1: Kurbaan (Saif Ali Khan & Kareena Kapoor).
Example 2: Fida (Fardeen Khan, Kareena Kapoor & Shahid Kapoor).
Example 3: Milenge Milenge (Shahid Kapoor & Kareena Kapoor).
Example 4: Tashan (Akshay kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali khan).
Example 5: Raavan (Abhishek Bachchan & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan).

Hope the examples mentioned above will throw light on the point i am making. I can put multiple examples on the same and there would be i guess 1 in a million example which may not adapt to this theory.

The ratio of movies getting successful by pairing the couple together and not against each other will surely be huge in reality; hope it can be put up quantitatively by research.

Conclusion: The trend means that they have to be shown together in the film if they are seeing each other in real life and if not together than at least shown friendly with each other in the movie.
But you cannot portray the real life couple fighting against each other and never come together in the movie. It will surely not score with the 'mango people'.

Game Theory

I know it is too late in the day to write the following thought. But as it is said 'better late than never'. Didn't get the time to pen down my thoughts but nonetheless here it goes.

Just a couple of days back the opposition party had announced bharat bhand for the price rise. Which i believe was a very stupid act. Because by shutting shops and burning buses, prices are not going to reduce.

Secondly there was football fever which had caught the entire nation. Maradona known to be the King of Football, as we all know is famous for his Goal of the century and Hand of God goal. No matter how controversial that goal was but it is still the most memorable and most loved goal worldwide.

Now here was an opportunity for Congress to turn around the game by doing something as topical as possible. I have just tried to do a creative rendition of my thought. Check the creative. I think it would have done wonders for Congress party.

Love Factors

I always believed, since i gained maturity that a man can fall in love with a woman if she has got at least ONE of the following factors in her, of course if more than 1 nothing like it;

Falling in Love Factors:

a. She is good looking or

b. She is intelligent or

c. She has got good assets or

d. She is Rich or

e. She is very Caring

You can take any couples in this world and you will find that they fall in at least one of the factors mentioned above. (Tell me if i am wrong)

But recently i was proven wrong and it is still not digestable to me.
One of my colleagues who is quite decent looking, presentable and intelligent (which i doubt now) has fallen in love with a girl who has none of the above qualities. Trust me on this one. Now this has come like a blow to me.

So let your imagination run wild to draw a sketch of that woman. I wish i could ask him the reason why he loves her. But too late i guess as they are already going to get married.

All i can say is All the best to him and God bless him always.

To Conclude: Love is blind but other 4 Senses of human body are active to help.

Thanda Thanda Cool Cool

If any one of you have not tried Navratna Hair Oil, my suggestion is please try it. I know many might feel that it is down market and cheap and it is only for Cattle class segment. But let me tell you, if because of this you have not tried the product, than you are missing something. It is really worth trying and once you try it, i am sure you will not switch to other type of hair oil. When you use it, it makes the head so cool and makes you feel extremely relaxed. In a way relieves all your stress. Ingredients like Sailaja, Kshir Kakoli etc... works like magic in the hair oil. This is the USP of the product rightly stays true to its product promise of "Thanda Thanda Cool Cool".

Everything is good about the product but the only thing which makes me
w
onder is that why they have used Red as Color for their Hair Oil. Given the brand promise which is "Thanda Thanda Cool Cool".... how can the hair oil color be Red. Red as color in Indian context denotes seriousness, pressure, headache, blood, Tension & Stress.

Based on the product promise they should have made the hair oil in colors which reflect Coolness and Relief. Colors like Blue and Green would do wonders for them. as it connotes health, freshness, serenity and calmness.

But nonetheless, i think so.......brand must have realized its mistake and they have come out with new variant of Navratna Hair Oil which promises to be even more cooler than the previous one and is in color Green. I just hope that it is a mistake that they realized it and therefore changed it in their new variant or did they change it to differentiate the product from the previous one or it is just a matter of luck.

No matter what the reason is, I am happy that they have introduced Green Color in their new Hair Oil variant.

Happy Oiling and try it once for sure......................

IPL: Branding Cricket Teams

IPL fever has certainly caught on as usual.

Names of each of the IPL teams are very interesting. But out of the lot I personally feel Mumbai Indians as a brand name is simply the best because.....

a. Every IPL team has a name which is specific to their city, which is fair enough. But Mumbai Indians is the only team which has got the country name in it. So the message is clear that
although it plays for Mumbai but it is proud to be an Indian first.

b. Secondly simply because i am a Mumbaite. (Silly reason but true)

c. Now this reason is sixer according to me. The name Mumbai Indians clearly sends out a strong
message to everyone that Mumbai is for all the Indians and not just for Maharashtrians.
If MNS has his way out, it would be called as "Mumbai Maharashtra" team.

Hope the new teams on the block for next years IPL, Pune and Kochi do some learning from this.

Jai Ho Mumbai Indians.............

Double Standards

After many days i finally got the chance to watch television. I was just caught up with many things . Anyways while surfing channels, i happened to see the commercial of BSNL starring their brand ambassador Deepika Padukone. Link of the commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ND7-O-fQSbM

In this commercial it talks about how BSNL has created a difference in one's life and others.
A model called Rahul is shown whose life is very boring and not at all happening. Deepika gifts him BSNL connection and overnight things change and how his life is full of action now. Different features of BSNL are highlighted during this transition and says BSNL has changed his life.

In the end, Deepika signs off by saying "When are you changing your life?"

In my mind the entire CONCEPT of this commercial was decent but it would have made more sense for BSNL's competitor which is Idea.

Simply because Ideas brand promise is 'An Idea can change your life'; so it is a perfect fit for them. So when i saw the ad it just reminded me about the brand Idea and BSNL didn't trigger me much.
Wish BSNL's agency would have worn their thinking caps while making this commercial.

Another commercial which i saw is a campaign which says AMAN KI ASHA, which talks about peace initiative between India and Pakistan. A series of events have also been lined up by taking some of the biggest music artist to perform in India.

I sincerely appreciate this initiative and hope it makes a difference.

On having designed and implemented such a massive campaign and series of event for peace initiative on one hand, on the other hand none of the Pakistani players were selected for the IPL matches. We really have double standards in life. I think its no point doing this 'Aman ki Asha campaign and create a mockery of India and play with sentiments of people.
Such is the irony of life. May Jesus bless the 2 worlds.
